Getting Started

How Product Import Works

When you connect your Shopify store, RightPrice automatically imports your entire product catalog.

What Gets Imported

For each product, we import:

  • Title - Used for matching
  • Description - Helps improve match accuracy
  • SKU - Cross-referenced with retailers
  • Barcode (GTIN/EAN/UPC) - Best way to find exact matches
  • Price - Your current selling price
  • Cost - For margin calculations (if available)
  • Images - Used for visual matching verification
  • Product type & tags - For category grouping

Import Process

Initial Import

The first import fetches all active products from Shopify. This happens automatically when you install RightPrice.

Ongoing Sync

After the initial import, we keep your data current through:

  • Webhooks: Real-time updates when you change products in Shopify
  • Daily sync: Full catalog verification to catch any missed changes

Improving Import Quality

For best matching results:

  1. Add barcodes: Products with GTIN/EAN/UPC codes achieve 95%+ match accuracy
  2. Use descriptive titles: Include brand name and key specifications
  3. Categorise products: Use Shopify product types consistently

Excluded Products

We don't import:

  • Draft products
  • Archived products
  • Products with no price set

Re-importing Products

To force a fresh import, go to Settings > Sync and click Re-sync All Products.
