How Matching Works

Product matching is the core of RightPrice. We use multiple signals to find the same product across different retailers.

Matching Signals

1. Barcode (GTIN/EAN/UPC) - Most Accurate

If your product has a barcode, we match it directly to the same barcode on competitor sites. This achieves 95%+ accuracy.

2. Brand + Model Number

We extract brand names and model numbers from titles and descriptions to find matches.

3. Title Similarity

Our AI analyses product titles to identify matching products, accounting for variations in how retailers name items.

4. Image Matching

For products without barcodes, we use image analysis to verify potential matches.

Match Confidence Scores

Each match receives a confidence score:

  • 90-100%: Very high confidence - typically barcode matches
  • 70-89%: High confidence - strong title/brand matches
  • 50-69%: Medium confidence - review recommended
  • Below 50%: Low confidence - requires manual verification

Match Statuses

  • Confirmed: You've verified this match is correct
  • Pending Review: System-generated match awaiting your review
  • Rejected: You've marked this match as incorrect
  • No Match: No competitor product found

Improving Match Rates

  1. Add barcodes to your Shopify products
  2. Include brand names in product titles
  3. Use model numbers where applicable
  4. Add detailed descriptions with specifications
